Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris)

Mugwort has many uses and benefits in addition to its antioxidant, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. It is commonly used for:

• Stomach and intestinal conditions including diarrhea, constipation, slow digestion, vomiting, and stomach or intestinal ulcers
• Lethargy, lack of energy, and fatigue
• Scarring, especially hypertrophic (thick, raised) scars
• Soothes itching, and can be combined with menthol to address minor burns
• Insomnia
• Irregular menstrual periods and painful cramps
• Natural repellant for moths and other insects harmful to gardens

Metaphysical Uses

Mugwort is or should be a staple in every witch/ magickal practitioner's cabinet. Mugwort is typically smoked or used in spellwork for its crown and third eye-stimulating properties.

It can be used to add power to spells, as a tool to evoke psychic visions, as a sleep aid in astral travel work, and adds a boost to any divination projects or activities. Mugwort can also be used to clean metaphysical tools, although a combination of lemon, salt, and other herbs may offer a more well-rounded cleansing experience. 

While listed as an occult tool, mugwort is completely safe for consumption so as long as there are no pre-existing allergies and you stick to safe dosage guidelines.
